The Sagardia’s 2024 in Review
January
We started the year off from the comfort of our home in San Rafael, CA. We took LOTS of walks outside and visited with Nilo’s favorite people-our neighbors. Nilo loves to splash in his new red rain boots that our wonderful neighbor, Sharon, got for him. He also loves to hang out with Ms. Dinah and King when they go on walks. Overall, January was a pretty chill month after the craziness that December was.
February
In February, we visited a lot of parks and skipped lots of rocks into the pond at the Civic Center down the street from our house. Dee Dee sent Nilo and mommy a Valentine’s Day gift that had a bear and chocolate in it. Nilo LOVED the chocolate. We found joy in playing with common household items like the box the diapers come in and grilling with Daddy on the back deck. Dee Dee and Pop Pop visisted from South Carolina and spoiled Nilo while Mami and Papa went on an anniversary overnight. They played in my tent with me and let me watch the Wheels on the Bus on repeat. We also got to meet Stella in 3D! How cool!! I really didn’t want Dee Dee and Pop Pop to leave but they had to get back to my other Aunts and Uncles! Mom and Dad took me to my first of many open mic night where we saw our neighbor, Ryan, play music. I loved it and danced and clapped and got to sit in Sharon’s (Ryan’s mom) lap the whole time. I also got my first helmet and had a scary ER visit because my breathing was strained.
March
I started off the month strong with green juice at the farmer’s market. Mom likes to trick me into getting my greens in with this smoothie but I can’t complain-it’s delicious. I mastered riding my mini bike and pushing around the stroller. I’m preparing to push my baby sister in the stroller, for sure. I learned the word no which mom and dad think is cute and funny, for now. I am in a momma only phase right now. Daddy went to Brazil on a fun guys trip and Omi flew here from North Carolina to help mom with me since she’s super pregnant with Stella now. We brought her to Burmatown (delicious-yumm) and Hawk Hill where I hiked the WHOLE way!! With only a few goldfish bribes… I was SO excited to see my daddy when he got home from his travels. I drew with chalk for the first time ever and it was so much fun that I request it almost daily now. Ms. Dinah fostered a dog named Dallas who was super cute and I loved petting her. I rode my bike almost the whole way to the farmer’s market for the first time and we went to Lake Lagunitas where I did a little more hiking. I’m absolutely obsessed with agua and balls. I also love hanging out in the evenings with my 90 year old neighbor, John-he’s the coolest. I also love to hang out with my friend, Auggie, before he moves to Seattle. I finished off March by doing a super awesome Easter egg hunt in the neighborhood, which was coordinated by Gma Sharon and an Easter bunny scavenger hunt at Sports Basement.
