Connor + Jackie moved to Connecticut from one of my favorite places on earth, Charleston, South Carolina, with the military. GO COUGARS! Connor is currently serving in the Navy and Jackie is a nurse, and yes, they are the absolute sweetest people with the biggest servant hearts. I had the privilege of meeting them once before when I photographed them in a local Connecticut coffee house, Washington Street Coffee House for a model call. We chose to do a coffee house session for them because Jackie told me that in their spare time, they love to seek out new coffee in quaint cafes. Once we met, it felt like we had been best friends for decades and I instantly knew we would be forever friends. It was an obvious decision to do photos in their new home to capture all of the hard work they have put into remodeling it since moving here and to get photos of them in it before Connor deploys!

Not only are they the cutest freaking couple EVER, but they also have the sweetest love story. Check this out – Jackie started working for Connor’s parents in high school. She worked at their local business answering phones, filing paperwork, and doing some administrative work, which is where she met Connor. When they first met, Jackie said she couldn’t stand him… but obviously something changed eventually 😉. She said after a few months they became pretty good friends and she asked him to teach her how to play guitar. As most of us know, music lessons are no joke and require a lot of intensive hours of practice, so they began to hang out more and more outside of work! They started dating shortly after that and Jackie still claims to not know how to play the guitar but she got a loving husband out of those lessons and loves watching Connor play in their worship ministry at church on Sundays. Hearing that story made my heart so full and I just had to incorporate the guitar in our sweet in home session.

I ask a couple of different questions in a questionnaire that I send to my couples before our time together and their responses were the sweetest and what ultimately led to a lot of my decisions for their in-home session. I knew I wanted them cuddled up on the couch for some photos because when I asked how they like to relax together, they said “We love curling up on the couch with coffee and having long talks or watching Hallmark movies. We also watch sermons together and read the Bible together.” So we did just that and it was so heart warming just watching them interact and sing to each other. We also got their Bibles out because they love to read scripture together and we chatted about how they were planning to do a devotional while Connor is underway to stay connected. This is super important because Connor’s love language is quality time and he said that ” I just like being with her all the time.” *cue the happy sappy tears* 😭

Finally, my favorite response from their questionnaire was when I asked Jackie what her favorite habit of his is and she responded, “I love how he makes the bed every day. It’s such a small thing but it helps me while I’m getting ready and it’s just so sweet that he takes the time to make our home clean and comfy.” CAN THEY GET ANY CUTER?!?!?! The answer is no. They are already the cutest. After spending a few hours here and there with them, I could tell how full their hearts are for each other and the world around them. Connor + Jackie, thank you for opening up your home to me, for being so loving and gracious, and for letting me capture your sweet, God-centered love. I can’t wait to see y’all again SO soon! ♥️
